Date: 10.15.2005 Back in the recording studio again, John has been busy laying tracks for his newest project, a children's CD titled, "Kids Dig Jazz, Volume One” Teaming up with West Street Digital this CD will feature popular movie themes and original songs by John. John is joined by the singing kids from Rebop Records as well as world famous Bob Militello (The Dave Brubeck Quartet) and William Gallison. Local Vermont guitar legend, Paul Asbell adds his magnificent musical touch to the project. The graphic design and cover art is again being created by the folks at Synchronicity Web Designs, and will feature John in an unusual yet playful costume. The exact official release date has not yet been posted but the CD will be available for Christmas 2005.

The Rusty Nail, Stowe, Vermont Over the years, John has worked with some of the finest musicians in the business, including Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea and Gary Burton. One of the high points of this project was attending the recent "Jade Lady" release party at the Rusty Nail in Stowe, Vermont. John's 10-piece Jade Lady band consisted of local jazz cats such as Paul Asbell, Skeeter Camera, Will Patton, Dave Ellis and Steve Weinert. Other musicians appearing with John included saxophonist and flautist Bob Militello (The Dave Brubeck Quartet) and New York City harmonica virtuoso William Galison (Sting, David Byrne, Astrud Gilberto and Madeleine Peyroux). The show was simply amazing. There were moments of the evening that quite literally sent chills down my spine. Although the band had not played together for many years, many of John's songs just "happened", creating an energy that can only be described as magical. |
